I sincerely believe that banking establishments are more dangerous than standing armies, and that the principle of spending money to be paid by posterity, under the name of funding, is but swindling futurity on a large scale. ~ Thomas Jefferson
Wilderness Policy Sparks Western Ire An Initiative to Expand Protection of Unspoiled Lands Has Drawn Opposition From Energy Companies and Ranchers
By STEPHANIE SIMON - WSJ.com
An Obama administration directive designed to preserve more public lands as wilderness is stirring anger in the West, where ranchers, sportsmen and energy companies say they could lose access to acreage they count on for their recreation and livelihood.
The regulatory change, initiated this month, directs the Bureau of Land Management to survey its vast holdings stretching between Alaska, Arizona, California and Colorado, in search of unspoiled back country. The agency can then designate these tracts - potentially millions of acres - as "wild lands."
Protections will vary from site to site, but in general such lands will be shielded from activities that disrupt habitat or destroy the solitude of the wild, according to the Interior Department. That might mean banning oil drilling, uranium mining or cattle grazing in some areas. It also could mean restrictions on recreational activities, such as snowmobiling or biking.
Howard Dean: I Read An Executive Order
That Requires The U.S. To Comply With Kyoto. Howard Dean claims to have seen a presidential executive order in 2009 that, "requires the government of the United States to comply with Kyoto."
Dean goes on to say that Barack Obama is an internationalist president who has a spine and he thinks the president is on their, "wavelength."
StoryBalloon.org HOWARD DEAN: Despite his recent decision on the ozone pollution I think he had actually have quite a terrific environmental record. Most people don't know that. But the fact is I actually for the first time in July of 2009 read an entire presidential executive order which is over 50 pages of legally gobbledygook which requires the government of the United States to comply with Kyoto. Luckily the Republicans never – I guess most of them can't read that far anyway. And it's an extraordinary thing.
The EO side steps Congress to 'virtually' adopt an International treaty that Congress previously refused to ratify.
The intent of giving the President power to write Executive Orders was designed was to expedite the 'business' of managing government, for greater efficiency... but NOT to adopt International Treaties, create law, or sidestep the legislative process.
Legitimate Reasons for Issuing an Executive Order
1. Operational management of the executive branch
2. Operational management of federal agencies or officials
3. To carry out statutory presidential responsibilities
Any President can REVOKE or SUSPEND any EO by writing a new EO, or Congress may pass a law that alters it, or the Supreme court can declare EOs unconstitutional.
With enough public pressure in 1998, Bill Clinton was forced to SUSPEND EO 13083 (Federalism - which took away states rights; EO 13095 SUSPENDED it).
Then Clinton later wrote a 'replacement', EO 13132 in 1999, which mandated division of governmental responsibilities between federal government AND the states (watering down 'states' rights as guaranteed by the 10th amendment) and furthering the Unfunded Mandates Reform Act. So, he accomplished basically the same thing a year later when the public uproar subsided. This one will still be a problem; if push comes to shove the individual states are likely to loose the argument.

Keith Ellison: Lying to the Infidels?
by Deborah Weiss - Townhall.com 01/03/2007
.... The Koran, by contrast, teaches that it's OK to lie to infidels if it furthers the cause of Islam, that nation states have no legitimacy, that the only legitimate nation is the nation of Islam, which has no territorial boundaries; and those who do not submit to the will of Allah should be condemned to a life of dhimmitude (second class citizenry). Because the Koran does not mandate truth telling to infidels and because upholding a man-made constitution conflicts with the literal text of Koranic law, the purpose of the oath is not served by swearing in on the Koran.
FIGHT NOW or FIGHT LATER
THAT IS THE QUESTION First off, to know your enemy, read the Koran (Qur'an) ... Islam is NOT a tolerant religion... Anyone not a Muslim IS an Infidel... There are only three choices for Infidels.. become a Muslim embracing Islam and Islamic law, become slaves to Muslims paying tribute or lastly, fight and die... Those are the only choices... The Koran allows for lying and deceit in fighting against Infidels... The Koran and Islamic writings call for followers to use all methods including violence to subdue the world to Islam... Unlike other religions who call for peace, tolerance of others, free will and love, this religion is intolerant of any belief systems or governments not Islamic...
